This was even before the executive producers of the television series that introduced them publicly addressed those aliens at the 2015 San Diego Comic Con.
This is the first time that the Salamandrians, the race of aliens that Newtralizer is one of, has been mentioned in the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise.
There is also a moment where Newtralizer mentions that Salamandrian tech is the deadliest in the 10 dimensions. There's a moment in the game Leatherhead mentions the Neutrinos are stuck in a Kraang dungeons. If Activision has indeed lost the license, here’s hoping that someone else picks it up soon. The Turtles had a rough 2016 with both the poor reception of their first current generation game as well as the underperforming box-office of the theatrically released Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows. The Heroes in a Half-shell have been associated with video game consoles going all the way back to the NES and have appeared on most every console since then, save the N64 and the original PlayStation. The other two Platinum developed Activision licensed titles, The Legend of Korra as well as Transformers: Devastation are still up for purchase. Though there’s been no statement issued by Activision, what this more than likely means is that the mega publisher has lost the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turlte license, similar to how a few years ago when all of their Marvel output was also pulled down from digital storm fronts until the Deadpool remaster came out in late 2014 and Marvel renegotiated a deal to get the two chapters of the Marvel Ultimate Alliance series also remastered for current generation platforms. 
It’s not just Mutants in Manhattan however that has gone missing, but all of Activision’s TMNT titles released since 2013: Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, Teenage Mugant Ninja Turtles (2013), Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Danger of the Ooze, the free-to-download Kinect game Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Training Lair and there’s no mention of the 2014 tie-in movie game for the 3DS on the eShop webpage.
Website Polygon reported that last year’s Platinum developed Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants in Manhattan, a game I awarded “Most Disappointing” in my 2017 Game of the Year awards, has vanished from digital platforms like PSN, XBL and Steam less than a year after its release. It looks like physical copies of Activision’s catalog of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles games just became collectors items while its digital only games will start to languish in obscurity for those who don’t already own them.
